With the end of the Cold War, the past two decades have been marked by upheaval in the US defense industry. Shrinking defense budgets in the early 1990s spurred a frenzy of divestitures and acquisitions, causing a few massive companies to own most of the defense market.

With resources to staff major contracts for complex and extensive weapons systems, large companies have a clear role in the industry. But as an executive of Texas Instruments Defense Systems and Electronics Group and later Raytheon, Kent Lowder learned first-hand the value of small, agile, highly-effective teams. He said, "A small team of the right folks can do what others won't even try."

Kent put that philosophy into action when founding Mustang Technology Group, LP, with a few partners in 1999. Mustang offers small-company agility with big-company experience, theoretical understanding with common sense, and innovative solutions to challenging problems with an old-fashioned commitment to integrity and hard work.

While most of our business is in the form of direct government contracts, we are also available to subcontract or consult for other companies. With DoD-approved facilities, we're ready to start today.
